Life Celebrated With Ceiva

"A picture or a photo is worth a thousand words" as the saying goes. A photo catches everything.

They say that we cannot turn back time, but a photo can.

In order to "preserve" the memories from the photo, a photo or a picture frame is a way to "keep it alive." But imagine having a digital photo frame that looks and acts like a conventional wood frame.

With Ceiva, it is "so much more than a Digital Photo Frame." Send photos from your computer or camera phone and receive photos from anywhere in the world.

Through Ceiva, sending and receiving "cherished photos" is as easy as abc. There are three simple ways to send and share photos: uploading online photos with Ceiva's free software, sending it directly from your phone to your frame from anywhere in the world, or uploading it from your memory card to your unlimited online storage.

And receiving photos is as easy as pie. With no interruption to your service, Ceiva frames connect to your existing phone line. In addition to that, Ceiva frames can connect via Wi-Fi or broadband. Further, through CeivaMobile it allows your frame to receive photos from email or camera phones.

Because at Ceiva, "life is shared and life is celebrated,"--a wonderful gift for this holiday season.

Turkey On Christmas Day

Since my parents are strictly following the "no four-legged meat diet," therefore, we eat what they can eat. So instead of the traditional 'toothsome lechon baboy' (suckling pig), we opted for a lechon pabo (turkey).

With the whole family gathered together, enough food, and with a prayer… that was how we celebrated Christmas, the nativity of Jesus Christ.

By the way, Davao City experienced an intensity 4 earthquake in the morning of Christmas day. Still, it was a peaceful day…at least for me.

A Real Christmas

personal, meaning of Christmas, Christmas, Christmastide [flickr.com]
Jesus Christ

Few more days, it will be Christmastide once again. But what is really the meaning of Christmas?
Let us at all costs avoid the temptation to make our Christmas
worship a withdrawal from the stress and sorrow of life into a realm of unreal
beauty. It was into the real world that Christ came, into the city where there
was no room for Him, and into a country where Herod, the murderer of innocents,
was king.

He comes to us not to shield us from the harshness of the
world but to give us the courage and strength to bear it; not to snatch us away
by some miracle from the conflict of life, but to give us peace—His peace – in
our hearts, by which we may be calmly steadfast while the conflict rages, and be
able to bring to the torn world the healing that is peace.— Our Daily
Bread

What About Filipino

When looking for a job, one has to undergo an interview. During the interview process, the English language is the language being used/spoken, 99% of the time.

Furthermore, most successful professionals (and I meant those people who strived hard to achieve success, not through nepotism or genetics) are fluent and articulate in the English language.

Moreover, almost every job opportunity has "excellent in English communication skills" as one of the job requirements, especially when applying/working in a call center.

What about Filipino? Is the Filipino subject still essential to earn a degree? Is it still "propitious" learning the pandiwa, panghalip, et cetera?

Maybe… or maybe not.

Innocent Child

A child so young…
So naive to think about what's going on in his country…
So callow that he still has the time to enjoy his childhood years...

And with the present chaos, I wonder what his (our) world is going to be like in the years to come.

Face of the Week: Milla Jovovich

Born on December 17, 1975.

Milla Jovovich (Yo-vo-vitch) is a Serbian-Ukrainian model/actress/fashion designer/musician/etcetera.

Out of 20+ films she made, I've seen:
Return to the Blue Lagoon—derived from Brooke Shield's Blue Lagoon.
The Fifth Element—as Leeloo who was tasked to be the only one who can stop the Evil from extinguishing life.
The Messenger: The Story of Joan of Arc—as Joan of Arc.
.45-- as Kat who fell in love with Big Al. (Why he was named Big Al? Because he has this humongous…)
Resident Evil: Apocalypse, Extinction... – as Alice who had an amnesia that resulted from the inhalation of the nerve gas released into her bathroom and "metamorphosed into the Resident Evil."

Also, happy birthday to Angie and Marivic.

The Marijuana Art

Mary Jane Goods is "a producer, marketer and retailer of original and intelligent pieces of art that are unique"—the DNA Artistry.

MaryJaneGoods.com is an online retail store that has just been launched for the Cannabis aficionados. MaryJaneGoods.com has a selection of high-end, quality products from the DNA genetic fingerprint of Cannabis sativa plant or better known as Marijuana.

Let me first present a background on what DNA artistry is all about. DNA artistry takes the DNA fingerprint of people, pets, and now plants. And through fingerprinting process, the fingerprint will now turn into an interesting, fine art.

Now, the founder of DNA Artistry decided to start producing art out of the DNA of endangered species. And this time, the founder extracted the DNA fingerprint of the Cannabis sativa plant.

Amongst many, the Mary Jane Goods Coffee Mug is my favorite. It is a coffee mug that has a logo printed in normal ink. The interesting part comes when the liquid is heated within the mug, then the Cannabis DNA print appears.

My other favorite is of course the Art Stash Box that would surely light up my room because the print will just glow in the dark.

Don't get excited yet. Go visit their website, MaryJaneGoods.com, and feast your eyes with their great selection of art, t-shirts, and novelty products. Or better yet, go grab the cart and purchase their latest products.

Ctrl Alt Del Is for Windows

[flickr.com]

I had a "rerun" of Sex and The City this week and one thing I've learned from the episode, "My Motherboard, My Self," is that-- "Ctrl Alt Del is not for Mac." That's when Aidan tried to troubleshoot Carrie's Mac using these keys.

Hmm, it's a caveat for me because I know, in the future, my best friend would ask me to troubleshoot her Mac Book.

And so I would keep it in mind: keyboard shortcut keys on Windows will not work on Mac. Because Windows is for Windows and Mac is for Mac.

A Gift To Remind You

It is Christmas time once again. Malls are offering big, big discount on almost every item they sell. Christmas parties are inevitable, which remind me of our own Christmas party.

I have not decided yet what Christmas gift should I give for our Kris Kringle or Exchange Gifts- a gift that is something special and meaningful.

I know that Christmas is a season for giving but what possible gift can I give to someone who is querulous—someone who always complains about how exasperating it is to clean their house?

A lot of ideas show up in my mind. And I am thinking of something that, while she is cleaning their own house, my gift would remind her that she is doing it only because she loves the people living in that house.

Since she already has a vacuum cleaner and a vacuum cleaner bag is, I think, a good idea. And I don’t have to worry about how much it would cost me because EZvacuum.com is offering 10% off on vacuum cleaners bags belts filters brushrolls machines.

I will just use the Code EZVCAC10 to avail of this exciting discount, which is applicable on all orders over $20 and shipping is free on all orders over $50.

So I guess I am ready for our Christmas party, huh! How about you?

2008 Nursing Licensure Examination: I was there

licensure examination[Flickr.com by The Mamosta]

It's been almost a week after the 2008 nursing licensure examination. I was there, as one of the proctors. I must admit that I had second thoughts on the idea of being a proctor because I know it's a big responsibility. But I still gave it a try.

I had fun. It was a bit exciting.

Watching the examinees answering made me smile while I remember the time when I took the board exam…

Looking at the ceiling to find some answers. Scribbling some notes on the test booklet. Circling, underlining, marking the options… looking at the board for the remaining time… scratching my head… trying to remember the page where I've read the information that might help in choosing the right answer… asking God to guide me in answering… talking to Him…

Those things… the examinees helped me remember them.

I've understood their feelings… the anxiety, the frustrations, the sleepless nights.

But the result made the sleepless nights all worthwhile when my name appeared on the list of board passers.

But then again, the result was not the end of it...instead it only marked the beginning of a long journey.

Unfortunately for nursing examinees, they have to wait for three months or so for the result.

Hmm, I wonder what they're going to do while waiting… apply for a job in a call center, perhaps.

Mangosteen or Garcina mangostana, is a sweet, "citrusy" fruit.
My way of eating it is like eating a santol… dip the fruit in vinegar with salt or just sprinkle salt on the fruit and Glücklich essend!

Mangosteen has a lot of health benefits. The mangosteen tea alone is an effective treatment for diarrhea. I haven't tried it yet...have you?
